– On the Second Day of December…

– – –

On the second day of December
More decorating to do!
We have more nativities
Than there are animals in the zoo!

But at the last, most are now up,
Though their are a handful still to do.
We need to finish painting a shelf,
That is supposed to hold quite a few!

Handmade gifts, had progress today,
Sewing machines hummed for hours.
But my list to do, grows up anew,
Like a castle’s, ancient, stone towers.

So now I must leave, to get some repose,
So to be ready to meet a new day.
For morning will come, before I expect it,
And my list will again come my way!

To the KING be all the glory!

– On the First Day of December…

– – –

On the first day of December,
What a whirlwind day!
It seemed so many things were coming,
To hinder a decorating day!

After all, only a little got done,
Hopefully we’ll finish tomorrow.
At least all the broken nativities were fixed –
Except the lost one – much to our sorrow.

Our afternoon closed with a crash and a bang,
As two bulbs and a shepherd shattered.
Mom fixed the shepherd (Superglue is great!)
And the other glass shards were all gathered.

So now our day closes, it almost nine-thirty,
But first we have family worship to do.
So now off we go, singing, praying reading, –
You know, the days until CHRISTmas… they’re so few!!

To the KING be all the glory!

On the Thirty-First Day of December …

– – –

‘Twas the thirty-first day of December,
And everywhere, high and low,
The decorations were gathered together
And into the boxes did go!

The ornaments, nativities and bows,
The tree and it’s accompanying light,
They were gone – gone ’till the next year –
Everything looked bare to the sight!

The family weren’t quite done with Christmas –
They still planned a movie or two,
They would probably sing a few songs.
But didn’t plan anything big and new.

So, thus ends my story of a family,
Who spent their month of December,
With joy and pleasant activities,
But always tried to remember:

The birth of their King as prominent –
As most important above all things.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these posts –
And smile or two, to you, it brings!

The End!

To the KING be all the glory!

On the Thirtieth Day of December…

– – –

‘Twas the thirtieth day of December
And nothing “Christmasy” happened!
No movies, no music, no cookies – Oh wait!
A late Christmas present, someone did send!

The many decorations
That blanketed the house,
Were still not removed
By a human or mouse.

Tomorrow should be,
One busy day!
For the house should be back
To it’s normal way…

To the KING be all the glory!
