~On the First Day of December…

On the first day of December,
Fevers and sneezes abounded!
Five out of seven had caught the cold,
And a chorus of sniffles resounded!

Yet, the family was determined,
Sick though they might be,
To have decorations up,
For their tired eyes to see.

So they unpacked the nativities,
Most of them at any rate,
And put up their CHRISTmas tree –
Then all, in a half decorated state.

The morning will be soon enough,
To finish the work begun this day.
And they just know when it’s finished,
It will be, lovely in every way!

To the KING be all the glory!

Oh, dear! I’m so sorry y’all are feeling so badly….
Five of us caught each other’s cold last week. {Thank the Lord Marmy was spared! She is the bulwark of our family.} Most of us are well now, though. I know how crazy having most of the family sick can be: I’ll pray for y’all. :]

And this poem is so very clever. I love the Willow Tree set pictured. <3

    Soli Deo Gloria!

    Your sister in Christ,
    Shelby

    :(
We just went through it all too! And we’ve been baffled because we’ve been sick for a couple weeks, and this morning we all felt fine, but most of us showed a pretty good fever. Then… we changed the battery in the thermometer and we were all miraculously fever-free! That was a quick cure; you should try it. ;)
