~T’was the Twenty-Sixth…

photo

T’was the twenty-sixth of December
And now that the dishes are done,
The house is dark, the family silent,
The course of the day is run…

I admit that I feel quite exhausted,
But sleep, last night, did quite elude,
Until the wee hours of morning –
So weariness, my day did exude.

So, good-night, to any night readers,
Good-morning to those who sleep first,
Good-afternoon to yet others who wait longer…
As to the rest – farewell for now… until the next verse…

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Twenty-Fifth…

photo

T’was the twenty-fifth of December
And my family and I got together,
Sang, cleaned, exchanged gifts,
While we celebrated our born Savior.

We had friends come to our house,
They filled it with laughter and cheer.
Though, my poor sick little brother,
Had to stay in bed all day – poor dear!

Thank You, O LORD for humbling Yourself.
Thank You for coming down to man.
Thank You for saving the unsavable,
Through Your own awesome, incredible plan!

Thank You for giving what I don’t deserve –
In so many versions, means, and ways.
Thank You that You’re always here and near
And will be for the rest of our days!

Thank you for being a tiny baby,
Lain in a stable in a bed of hay.
Thank you for all You have done forever.
Help me remember always, LORD – not just today!

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Twenty-Fourth…

T’was the twenty-fourth of December
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse…

Oh, wait. That’s not my poem.
Someone else did that already.
Besides, it’s not true,
As long as I’m typing semi-steady.

My day had been filled with song,
Movies, cookies, and gifts.
Cleaning up this and that –
Each thing moving in shifts.

Now, everyone else is asleep –
At least, everyone is in bed.
So Merry CHRISTmas Eve to you all!
I think, to my rest, I should head…

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Twenty-Third…

T’was the twenty-third day of December
And I sat in a silent and mostly darkened house.
My brain was a spinin’, my hands were a typin’,
My fingers moved across, my laptop version of a mouse.

For a writing deadline I had –
Well, actually, it was passed.
So, I needed to finish this project,
And finish it really fast!!

But quickly the clock was ticking,
Quickly the time seemed to fly!
And my time for sleeping tonight,
Seemed to be waving good-bye!

So, I’d better be getting back
I still have a lot to do.
So, for now, I will have to bid
Any reader of mine “adieu”!

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Twenty-Second…

photo

T’was the twenty-second of December
And we decorated the tree!
Bulbs and lights, figures and pictures,
And one centerpiece nativity.

Then, of course, up on the top,
Was our traditional plastic star.
It’s getting old and a little yellowed –
It’s come along pretty far!

The tree looks so lovely, glowing bright,
With the decorations all around.
All the ornaments, from new to old,
Fill it from the tip to the ground.

Somehow, if makes such a lovely picture,
Just to look at with delight.
But, we don’t have many days left to enjoy –
Christmas day – why it’s nearly in sight!

To the KING be all the glory!
