– On the Second Day of December…

– – –

On the second day of December
More decorating to do!
We have more nativities
Than there are animals in the zoo!

But at the last, most are now up,
Though their are a handful still to do.
We need to finish painting a shelf,
That is supposed to hold quite a few!

Handmade gifts, had progress today,
Sewing machines hummed for hours.
But my list to do, grows up anew,
Like a castle’s, ancient, stone towers.

So now I must leave, to get some repose,
So to be ready to meet a new day.
For morning will come, before I expect it,
And my list will again come my way!

To the KING be all the glory!

I Can’t Sew!

Of material I have no lack –
We have a nice, tall, folded stack.
I know I can succeed,
If a pattern I just read.
I’m not lacking for thread
I have a variety… black, blue, red…
My shears are nice and sharp,
They could shred a canvas tarp.
My machine will easily stitch.
It sews long seams without a hitch.
I have plenty of straight pins-
I couldn’t count them by tens.
Why is it that I can’t sew?
It’s the “where to start” – I just don’t know!

To the KING be all the glory!
