~T’was the First…

photo

T’was the first day of December
And I curled up sick and weary,
Head splitting and aching body –
In a season that’s so cheery!

I decided I needed help –
A happy little antidote.
I needed to be joyful,
Despite the feeling in my throat.

So I pondered and pondered
Over what I could do;
And the idea of blessings,
Quite quickly grew.

So I counted my blessings –
Very slowly, I know.
Then lined them right up,
In my head, in a row.

And as for a Christmas
Experience on this day?
Why, I’ve listened to music
Several times through the day!

And now, rest I should,
Though my pen calls my name.
This new book that I’ve started
Holds a name of great fame.

Woven in the pages
There is a character there
Who with a well known story,
A name, she doth share.

But that’s all that I’ll tell
In this poem tonight.
For I’m leaving someone
In rather a great plight.

And while they may be fiction
(And yes, I know that is true!)
It doesn’t seem the happiest
Thing for me to do.

But then, I’ll never fix it,
The plight they have, you know,
Not tonight, most certainly.
And probably not tomorrow.

But off I go to write or bed,
I’m really not quite sure,
Though, if I can but sleep,
It should surely be the latter!

To the KING be all the glory!

~On the Seventh Day of December…

– – –

On the seventh day of December,
The weather was rather chilly!
Ice covered the doggie dish –
And he tried to eat it – so silly!

The group of happy siblings,
Planned to spend the day outside.
They set up their big, favorite tent,
To there, for many hours abide.

The eldest took along A Christmas Carol,
And from thence proceeded to read.
But only after a game, cake and tea,
Was the reading allowed to proceed.

The time spent outdoors was fun!
The siblings had a great day!
And though the book wasn’t finished,
Before Christmas, I’m sure it may!

To the KING be all the glory!

~On the Fifth Day of December…

– – –

On the fifth day of December,
T’was a rather strange one!
Nothing much, worth writing,
Happened in it’s run.

A little rain, sprinkled outside,
The youngest was sick with a cold,
Actually, most of the family was –
With a cold, that was getting old.

A little more decorating was done,
And some much needed cleaning too.
Now that everyone’s going to bed…
I suppose this day, must be through!

To the KING be all the glory!

~On the Fourth Day of December…

*insert picture here… if I had one. :p*

On the fourth day of December,
My brain is much too tired,
To create a nice and flowing rhyme…
It feels all muddy and mired.

Instead I’ll go, read to my sisters,
Then hurry off to go to sleep.
Then maybe when the morrow comes…
The wells of rhyme, will again be deep!

To the KING be all the glory!

~On the Third Day of December…

– – –

On the third day of December,
It was quite a busy day!
With shopping, dishes and projects,
The beginning quite sped away!

The evening was more laid back,
As the family decided to sit,
Watch a few movies together,
While eating up some chocolate.

The evening wasn’t very productive,
But the family enjoyed the time,
Spent in each others company.
Now… I must close this little rhyme.

To the KING be all the glory!
