I’m BACK!!! WOW! It has been four whole weeks since my last post. Why have I been absent? Well, I just got back from spending a whole week with my family in California! It was very fun. The three weeks before that were so busy that I had no time to post. Here is a poem I wrote about the preparation for our trip. It is a little silly, but all true.
Preparing…
Dresses and shoes,
Socks and hats.
Laundry and food,
A beagle and cats!
All of these things
Must be properly cared for,
Made or worn,
Or bought at the store.
For a journey is looming
On the road up ahead.
Not of recounting any thing
I will anticipate instead.
Less than a month
Must pass away!
Less than a month
Before the anticipated day!
Will it be happy?
Will it be fun?
Will I be joyful
When the day is done?
Will the sun shine
In all it’s glory?
Or will there be rain
To add to the story?
There is so much to do
Before that day arrives.
Our house will be as busy
As bumblebee hives.
Laundry I must wash,
It must be clean.
Clothes of blue and tan
White and green.
Pajamas will need
To be created and sewn,
In flannel fabric
Of different tones.
What else will we need?
Oh! So many things!
Yet with the journey so near
My heart fairly sings!
I can hardly wait,
For the day to be here.
I am so excited that
It is so very near.
So where is this journey
Supposed to take me?
What do I hope
To hear and to see?
Ah! For that you must wait
In silent wonder,
Until I return
And break your wonders asunder.
Then I will tell,
What did befell me.
What I enjoyed,
And got to see.
I did wonder where you were!! Glad you've updated… I am glad you got to take a trip! How fun! I've never been to Cal. before!! Beautiful picture!
I did miss you!
Blessings,
Jocelyn
Rebekah…
Glad you liked my *real life* story… it wasn't that hard to write as it had already happened!! I give myself enough or too much credit.
I would be happy to read your stories if you want. I don't have to if you don't want me too.
Yeah, state says I can't graduate til 18, so I guess I will graduate next January. I can't believe I will be 18 this year… seems like yesterday when I was 10.
Sounds like me… I haven't blogged in a couple weeks!!

I am glad you had such a good time on your vacation, and your poem was wonderful. It described getting ready for a journey perfectly!
Hi Rebekah!
Thanks for coming to my blog and commenting. :-)
About your question on my poem, you're right, I was kind of hesitant to use the word "slay" because neither Frodo nor Christ's souls were necessarily "killed". But, both of their souls were badly beaten and "slayed", just not slayed all the way to the point where they died. If that makes any sense at all!!! ;-)
I hope you have a wonderful Easter,
God bless,
Sylvia
