~T’was the Fifth…

photo

T’was the fifth day of December
And I was simply tuckered out!
Sleep sounded so good to me –
So I decided to head that route.

As for a coherent, rhyming post,
Why, I couldn’t take the time,
To decide what to write about,
In my silly little rhyme.

So, good-night one and all!
I’m headed off to sleep,
Hoping from that repose,
Much benefit to keep…

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Fourth…

photo

T’was the fourth day of December
And I sat with scissors in hand,
Destroying bits of paper,
Piece by piece and strand by strand.

Trying to create a masterpiece –
A perfection of cuts and folds.
A small paper imitation
Of a snowflake – minus the cold.

But instead, I sat for an hour,
Annihilating every creation,
Destroying each attempt at a paper beauty
No matter my slicing deviation.

I folded corners out of place,
I sliced the poor things in half.
Paper simply should have been running
From my destructive path!

But at the last, the very last,
When I felt weary and nearly done,
I finally – finally – began to see,
How the ending could happily run…

And going ever so slowly,
Making folds and cuts with care,
I finally came out with the snowflake,
I do above with you share.

Despite original intentions,
I stopped after just one.
It was rather too late to keep going
But I plan more later – no, I’m not yet done!

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Third…

photo

T’was the third day of December
And quite some time I spent,
Furthering and cementing my knowledge of math –
At least, that was my intent.

I also did some writing
Again, on this new book of mine.
Now, I’m listening to Christmas music,
But for sleep, I’m beginning to pine.

So, I think I’ll keep this short.
Rest well, any who, tonight, may read!
And good-morning (quite early!) to those,
Who tomorrow this post may heed.

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the Second…

photo

T’was the second day of December
And for the first time in my life,
My Christmas shopping was finished
Where no last minute stress was rife.

At least, I was pretty sure…
There was one possible hitch…
But the rest was planned and paid –
I really felt quite rich!

I still felt rather ill,
At least for much of the day,
But I was rather more productive,
Than the day before I must say!

Then, my sister sent me a picture,
Of a dolls-house Christmas tree.
And I just thought it was so cute –
I put it up for all to see!

And last, a little writing filled my day,
Just a few pages I did do.
But my newly created book,
Had now reached chapter two.

To the KING be all the glory!

~T’was the First…

photo

T’was the first day of December
And I curled up sick and weary,
Head splitting and aching body –
In a season that’s so cheery!

I decided I needed help –
A happy little antidote.
I needed to be joyful,
Despite the feeling in my throat.

So I pondered and pondered
Over what I could do;
And the idea of blessings,
Quite quickly grew.

So I counted my blessings –
Very slowly, I know.
Then lined them right up,
In my head, in a row.

And as for a Christmas
Experience on this day?
Why, I’ve listened to music
Several times through the day!

And now, rest I should,
Though my pen calls my name.
This new book that I’ve started
Holds a name of great fame.

Woven in the pages
There is a character there
Who with a well known story,
A name, she doth share.

But that’s all that I’ll tell
In this poem tonight.
For I’m leaving someone
In rather a great plight.

And while they may be fiction
(And yes, I know that is true!)
It doesn’t seem the happiest
Thing for me to do.

But then, I’ll never fix it,
The plight they have, you know,
Not tonight, most certainly.
And probably not tomorrow.

But off I go to write or bed,
I’m really not quite sure,
Though, if I can but sleep,
It should surely be the latter!

To the KING be all the glory!
