Isn’t this book neat to look at? It belonged to my great-grandmother, once upon a time. I confess, I have yet to read it. I really should one of these days…

I need to move a few things around on here… and update my About Me page… I already redesigned my header! Bethany drew me the feather and I did the rest. Doesn’t it look neat?
As for new posts, I have some books to review – hopefully, I’ll go back to reviewing a book every Wednesday – a few poems to share, and I’m working on a serial story to start putting up. Not sure what day I’ll do for that one. I also have plenty of updates to share about my upcoming books, Grandmother’s Letters and The Tale of a Say’s Phoebe. (The first is Christian Contemporary Fiction for young adults, the second is a children’s picture book.)
I’m off to work on getting some of these ready… Oh, and in case anyone wants to know, windmills make me think of the passage of time… hence the picture at the head of this post.

” ‘On our old icy island people are fond of study. There isn’t a single farmer or fisherman who can’t read and doesn’t read. We believe that books, instead of mouldering behind an iron grating, far from inquisitive gazes, should be worn out under the eyes of a great many readers.’ ”
~Mr. Fridriksson in Jule’s Verne’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth
At least the cover is neat! The contents are interesting, but since I haven’t read the entire book (just bits and pieces here and there), I can’t really comment on it. :)

I know this is shamefully late. Sadie tagged me with the 11 Tag several weeks ago. (Sorry, Sadie!) I won’t give excuses, I’ll just post my answers. :) Oh! and if you’re wondering about the picture; I just thought those happy looking flamingos looked like they were huddled up together, getting ready to play a game of tag. :p
Rules of the game:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post 11 random things about yourself. (Though this can be optional.)
3. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you ask to answer.
5. Go to their blog and let them know you’ve tagged them.
About me:
1. Hmm… I nearly always go blank when I give a list of random things about myself. :p
2. The book of Isaiah is one of my favorite books of the Bible.
3. I have seen/heard/read countless mysteries in my lifetime. I really enjoy them.
4. I started blogging when I was 14 or 15.
5. I really do like to use a quill and ink to write, just not when I write my books. :)
6. I enjoy making homemade ice cream and coming up with new flavors.
7. My sisters and I usually wear our hair 13 curls on Independence Day, like the colonists women during the Revolution. This year, my hair got rained on, while still tied in rag curls, and I couldn’t take them down until the next day.
8. I have way too many projects going on at one time. Way too many.
9. I read several more books than I ever manage to review on my blog, though I always plan to review them all.
10. I have only been on an airplane twice in my life – I went on a trip with my mother and sister, and I came home. And it happened more than a decade ago.
11. I have sent way more e-mails than text messages. :)
Sadie’s Questions:
1.Your favorite kind of soda? – Does Kombucha count as soda? I suppose not. Root Beer?
2. Ice Cream or Cake? Your favorite kind? – Heath Ice Cream. Better yet, my homemade English Toffee Ice Cream! :)
3. Do like to write a letter or just email? – I enjoy doing both! Handwriting a letter feels extra special sometimes though.
4. Would you rather use a push lawn mower or riding lawn mower? – I enjoy using a push lawn mower, but I’ve never used a riding mower. I suppose a push lawn mower.
5. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? – LORD willing, a much more devoted follower of the my KING, a wife and mother, as well as a published author. :)
6. Favorite movie ever? – Ooh… I’m not sure there. I like Amazing Grace a lot. I also like the Horatio Hornblower movies. And Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
7. What’s your favorite music artist? – I don’t think I have one, actually. I enjoy listening to several, but I don’t think I have a favorite.
8. A really awkward moment in you life? – Having to ask a stranger to repeat himself three or four times before I could understand the question he was asking me.
9. Would you rather fly or drive when going on trips? – Drive, right now.
10. Have you ever been out of the US? If so, what places? – No, I haven’t.
11. The way you met me. – Either when you came to our house with your Dad… or I might have met you at camp. :)
Since I really don’t have anyone else to tag, I won’t come up with a new list of questions. Thanks for tagging me Sadie! Your questions were fun to answer! :)
