~Starting the Countdown…

– – –

I now have a release date! LORD willing, A Year with the Potters will go live on Friday, November 23rd! I’m pleased to announce that my book is already live! Here’s the link: A Year with the Potters.  To celebrate the release, I’ll be hosting my very first giveaway on November 23rd! That’s the day after Thanksgiving or Black Friday, for those who don’t want to look at a calendar. (Like me!) Details should follow shortly, as I’m still sorting them out.

Also, soon to come, will be the book trailer for A Year with the Potters. It’s nearly finished! :D

~I Have a Published Copy!!!

So technically it’s a proof copy, so I can make sure everything is fine, but I actually have a real, printed copy of A Year with the Potters in my house. And it looks nice! So far, I’ve found one error that I need to correct, but other than that – it looks good! I’m so excited, happy, thrilled… You probably get the idea.

Be on the lookout – LORD willing, this book will be going live, available for purchase very soon. I should have several more posts about it coming.

~Illustration Sneak Peak

When I first decided to self-publish A Year with the Potters, there was one thing I was decided on: I didn’t want any illustrations. This was probably the only part of the book that I thought I was absolutely set on. Until now. Now, that concrete decision has been blasted to smithereens and my younger sister, Bethany, has been working for the last few weeks on drawing me 13 illustrations to go with my 13 chapter children’s book. She draws them and I format them on the computer. At this point, I believe she has nine of them drawn. Here are just two of them. Isn’t she doing a good job? I think she is.

Save

~At Last…

So at last, I have returned. And this time, I’m serious. I have several posts planned; even a few are already typed out. So, what have I been up to?

First of all, my blog has obviously had a makeover. I was reluctant to get rid of my lovely brown background, but now that it’s done, I really like it. I might tweak one or two things still… nothing big. Like the shade of gray down on the entry link box. It seems a little dark to me. I can’t come up with a better color though, so it will have to stay for now. Overall though, I really like it. Many thanks to my Mom who helped me come up with the idea for the header. And thanks to my sister who lent me her quill and ink stand. My stand was too big! I also added a new “About Me” page at the top for those who are interested.

Next… I’ve been reading quite a lot when I haven’t been on the computer. I’ll try to have a list of what I’m reading up soon too. That and a list of what I have read, so you all can get an idea of the books I’ll be reviewing soon. (I already have two written up: Red Rain and The Phantom of the Opera should both be posted quite soon!)

Lastly… and I saved the best for last. At least I think it’s the best. I have officially decided to self-publish A Year with the Potters. LORD willing, I’ll be able to release it in the next several weeks. I finally have a book cover. I am so excited! I had some help in the designing of it, but it still seemed to take me forever. I’m sure I’ll get better at it with practice. This, of course, is the cover:

I would love to hear what you think of everything. I’m excited to be back to blogging. I’ve missed posting and my readers comments. :)
